Scope and who is responsible

This policy explains how the operator of CramClip ("CramClip," "we," "us") handles personal information when you use the CramClip mobile app, website, support channels, and related services. CramClip is responsible for the processing described here. Questions and privacy requests may be sent to support@cramclip.com.

Information and its sources

We collect information you provide, information created through use, and limited data from service providers:

• Account information: email address, name when supplied by your sign-in provider, account identifier, authentication records, and sign-in provider.
• Content you choose: PDFs, pasted text or URLs, course settings, exam type and date, and questions you send to Ask AI. The service creates private course outlines, scripts, audio, quizzes, summaries, and embeddings from that material.
• Learning activity: listening position, completed lessons, quiz and review answers and progress, saved downloads, playback settings, and notification preferences.
• Purchase status: product, entitlement, transaction identifiers, and credit activity supplied by the app store and RevenueCat. We do not receive your full payment-card details.
• Technical and usage data: app and operating-system version, a random installation or analytics identifier, feature events, performance measurements, crash reports, and diagnostic logs. Hosting and security providers may process IP addresses in ordinary network logs; CramClip does not request precise location.
• Support information: the content of messages and reports you send us, together with the contact information needed to reply.

Purposes and legal bases

We use information to authenticate you; upload and process study material; generate, store, and play courses; answer grounded questions; operate subscriptions and Generation Credits; sync progress; send notifications you request; provide support; prevent abuse; diagnose failures; and improve reliability and product experience.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, core processing is necessary to perform our contract with you. Security, fraud prevention, support, diagnostics, and limited product analytics rely on our legitimate interests in operating a safe and reliable service. Store and tax records may be processed to meet legal obligations. Optional notifications use your permission, which you can withdraw in the app or device settings.

AI processing and service providers

To provide CramClip, information may be processed by vendors acting for us. These include cloud hosting and storage (Vercel, Neon, and Cloudflare), generation and embedding services (Google Gemini), workflow and email providers (Inngest and Brevo), purchase infrastructure (Apple, Google Play, and RevenueCat), and diagnostics and analytics providers (Sentry and PostHog).

Study material and prompts are sent to the generation provider only when needed to create or answer questions about your course. We send each provider only the information needed for its role. These companies process information under their own contractual and security terms and may process it in countries other than yours.

No sale, advertising, or public sharing

We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, use study material to target ads, or publish your material or courses for other users. CramClip has no advertising SDK and does not use cross-app advertising trackers. We may disclose information if required by law, to protect rights or safety, or in a business transfer subject to appropriate safeguards.

Storage, security, and retention

Uploaded material and generated audio are stored in private, access-controlled storage. Network traffic is encrypted in transit. No security method is perfect, but we use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your data.

Account, study, and learning data are retained while your account is active so the service can work across devices. Account deletion starts removal of the account database records, uploaded source files, and generated audio from active systems. Local downloads remain on a device until removed, account data is cleared, or the app is uninstalled. Limited transaction, security, fraud-prevention, support, and legal records may be retained for the period reasonably necessary for those purposes. Short-lived backups and provider logs expire under their retention schedules; we do not use them to restore a deleted account.

Your choices and privacy rights

You can disable local notifications in CramClip or device settings, remove downloaded lessons, and manage your store subscription in your App Store or Google Play account. You can permanently delete your account from Profile → Delete account, or use our web deletion instructions. Deleting CramClip does not cancel a store subscription; cancel it separately in the applicable store.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or obtain a copy of personal information; object to certain processing; withdraw consent; or appeal a denied request. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority. CramClip does not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising, so there is no sale or advertising sharing to opt out of. To exercise a right, email support@cramclip.com from your account email. We may need to verify the request and will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.

International processing

CramClip and its providers may process information outside your country. Where required, we rely on recognized contractual or other safeguards for international transfers. You may contact us for more information about safeguards relevant to your data.

Children

CramClip is not directed to children under 13, or a higher minimum age where local law requires it. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child below the applicable minimum age. Contact us if you believe this has occurred.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as CramClip changes. We will post the revised effective date and provide additional notice when required. Questions, privacy requests, complaints, and requests for an accessible copy can be sent to support@cramclip.com.
